Time for the Christmas Tree!

How to shop for your live Christmas tree.

Hi everyone. Angie here. So you’re going to buy a live Christmas tree this year and you’re not exactly sure where to start? Worry not! I’ve been shopping for live Christmas trees since I was a little girl. If you’ve never had a live tree before, it can be an intimidating experience. That’s why I’m going to give you a few pointers on what to look for when shopping for your first live Christmas tree.

Green, Not Brown

Obviously you don’t want a brown Christmas tree, but brown needles may not be apparent on the outer branches of the tree where you can see them. Reach inside the tree by the trunk. If your hand comes out with a handful of brown needles, keep looking.

Fragile Needles

Run your hand down the Christmas tree branches. If green needles are falling off easily, you don’t want that Christmas tree. You should have a tree that has needles that are firmly in place.

Enough Trunk

Make sure there’s enough trunk at the bottom of the tree to fit in your tree stand. If the trunk isn’t long enough to hit the bottom of your tree stand, you’ll need to manually trim off branches until it’s long enough to do so and that may ruin the entire look of the tree.

Hopefully this advice will help and you’ll pick out a tree that will last you all season long!
